Event Management Salary
The most common question before choosing a career in events is: how much will I actually make? The answer will depend on your role, your city and the work you actually did. A fresher in Patna and a senior MICE manager in Mumbai are at very different stages. This guide talks about the event management salary in India by experience, role and city, with monthly numbers so that you can plan around real numbers. All figures are approximate ranges, not promises or guaranties.
Event Management Jobs at a Glance
Event management is not one job. It is a group of roles that pay differently:
- Event Planner: runs an event end to end, from budget and vendors to timelines and on-ground work
- Wedding Planner: designs and runs weddings, one of the fastest-growing segments
- Corporate Event Manager: handles conferences, product launches and client events
- MICE Coordinator: manages meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions, often at national scale
- Brand Activation Specialist: builds experiential campaigns for brands
- Digital/Hybrid Event Manager: runs online and hybrid events on event-tech platforms
What Decides Your Pay
Four things move your salary the most: years of experience, the city you work in, your specialisation (weddings, corporate or MICE), and the size of the agency. Two people with the same title can earn very different amounts because of these.
Event Management Salary by Experience
Experience matters more than the job title in the first five years. The monthly column is the annual figure divided by 12, before tax.
| Experience | Annual | Monthly (approx.) |
| Fresher (0-1 year) | ₹2.4 – ₹4.5 lakh | ₹20,000 – ₹37,500 |
| 2-3 years | ₹4 – ₹7 lakh | ₹33,000 – ₹58,000 |
| 4-6 years | ₹7 – ₹12 lakh | ₹58,000 – ₹1 lakh |
| 7+ years | ₹12 – ₹25 lakh+ | ₹1 lakh – ₹2 lakh+ |
The biggest jump usually comes between the first year and the third, when you start running parts of an event on your own instead of assisting.
Event Management Salary per Month
Most people think about pay in monthly terms, so this is what event management salary per month looks like in practice. A fresher can earn between ₹20,000-₹37,500. By the second or third year, it moves to about ₹33,000 to ₹58,000 and senior managers can cross ₹1 lakh. These are gross figures and hence your net salary will be lower after deduction of PF and tax. Freelancers and independent wedding planners have patchy months as work piles up in wedding and festival seasons.
Event Management Salary for Freshers
The event management salary for freshers ranges between ₹2.4 to ₹4.5 lakh per annum. “It is contingent upon your internships, if you’ve worked on real events, how well you communicate, and the agency that hires you.” A fresher who has done some work on a college fest or volunteered in an exhibition usually gets a better offer than someone who just has classroom knowledge.
Treat your first job as paid learning: vendors, timelines and on-ground problems. That is what pushes your pay up in year two and three.
Salary by Role
| Role | Annual | Monthly (approx.) |
| Event Planner | ₹6 – ₹10 lakh | ₹50,000 – ₹83,000 |
| Wedding Planner | ₹5 – ₹9 lakh | ₹42,000 – ₹75,000 |
| Corporate Event Manager | ₹8 – ₹14 lakh | ₹67,000 – ₹1.17 lakh |
| MICE Coordinator | ₹6 – ₹8 lakh | ₹50,000 – ₹67,000 |
| Brand Activation Specialist | ₹5.5 – ₹6.5 lakh | ₹46,000 – ₹54,000 |
These figures mostly reflect people with a few years of experience, which is why they sit above the fresher range. Corporate roles pay more because budgets are larger and clients come back, so the event management salary at a corporate-focused agency is often higher than at a wedding-only firm.
Salary by City
Your city changes your pay more than most people expect.
- Mumbai: the biggest market for corporate events and luxury weddings, at about ₹3 to ₹18 lakh a year depending on experience and agency size
- Delhi: close behind, with strong demand for destination weddings and government-linked events, at roughly ₹2.5 to ₹15 lakh
- Noida: growing fast because of corporate hubs and exhibition centres, at about ₹2.5 to ₹9 lakh
- Chandigarh: a smaller but active market for weddings and college festivals, at ₹2 to ₹7 lakh
- Patna: an emerging market as more brands invest in Tier-2 city events, where freshers usually start at ₹1.8 to ₹4 lakh
In monthly terms, a fresher in Patna may start near ₹15,000, while an experienced manager in Mumbai can earn well over ₹1 lakh. Keep the cost of living in mind before you compare cities.

Event Management Course Salary: Does a Course Change What You Earn?
A course does not fix your salary, because employers pay for what you can really do. What it can change is your launch pad. The event management course salary mainly depends on the live projects, internships and industry contacts you get along the way. A student that has worked on real events can reasonably expect to be at the top of the fresher range, while someone with no practical exposure typically starts at the bottom.
If you want structured training, Event University offers event management courses with live project work, industry mentorship and placement support. Students in North India can also look at its event management course in Delhi, which puts you close to some of the country’s biggest agencies, brands and wedding houses.
How to Increase Your Earnings
Your event management salary rarely stays flat if you keep building skills. These routes move pay the most:
Digital and hybrid skills: comfort with event-tech platforms is becoming a hiring advantage
Promotions: coordinators move up to senior planner and then event director, and each step brings a real raise
Specialisation: weddings, corporate events or MICE tend to pay better than staying a generalist
Freelancing or your own agency: with a strong portfolio, going independent can multiply income (see our guide on how to start an event management business)
Destination and international events: high-budget events abroad carry a clear premium
